Happy Birthday

There are some people you meet in your life and you wish you could thank them more often, because they touch your heart in the most powerful way possible….and yet, you hesitate since you don’t know how to tell them how special they are to you.

Once in a while you get to a point when you realise that they deserve to hear the truth…and the truth is that this person that I’m writing about is one of the most inspiring people I’ve been blessed to meet. She puts her soul in every little action she does and she never hesitates to help others. She makes people smile and she inspires teenagers to give their best. I can’t describe in words how much this person helped me in my life, but I know that if it weren’t her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Maybe I don’t say this enough, but I truly believe that she has a good heart and I admire her determination and her work to inspire others to become the best version of themselves.

Today is her birthday and I do believe that she deserves to know those simple words that maybe I don’t say very often, but when I do say them, I mean it:

,,Thank you so much for everything. Thank you  for lighting up a spark in my eyes and a fire in my heart, a fire who drives me to become better and better each day. Thank you for making me believe that dreams can come true if you have the power to pursue them and thank you for being an awesome friend, not just to me, but to everyone. Thank you for making me think about the power of positive words and how to relate better to other people. Thank you for working hard each time to share useful information with the group. I belive from the core of my soul that you are a beautiful person: inside and out. Keep on smiling…you are bringing a positive change in the world.”

Lots of love,

Keep it real!

Do you remember those movies when soldiers come back from war and everyone congratulates them? The victory is usually the last thing you see on the screen, but that’s not real life. Let’s be honest. In real life, soldiers come back to their normal lives, tormented by thousands of images in which they kill people. Do you know how I understood that? In a way, I was that soldier.

At some point in my life, I put my armour up and I went to war, because there was no other choice left. Inside my heart it was a battle that I had to win, to keep my feelings at bay. The crowd. The victory. The fame…and then, I went home. I felt wounded, haunted and with a lot of unresolved issues.

If you ask me, don’t ever try to be a soldier. You may win the war, but you will lose yourself in the process. Pieces of your heart scattered everywhere and a huge hole right in the middle of your soul. If you ask me, I’d say that this is real life where the best people get hurt the most and where you need to be your own hero, because no one will come to save you. It may sound harsh, but if you want something sweet, just watch a sugar-coated movie instead. I’d rather keep it real.

Lots of love,

Queen of Hearts

Be yourself, because yourself is the best person you can be. Comparisons won’t get you further in life and neither will complaining. You are unique. You are special. You are beautiful. You are your own version of perfect, so why try to be someone else’s? Just because they told you that’s the norm? Just because they’re popular? Forget it. You are you…and for whatever reason: that’s enough. Love yourself and forget about the others. If you don’t make yourself happy, no one else will. Smile more often. Dance. Enjoy the beauty of nature. Dream big. Help others. Dare to think outside the box. Have fun with your friends. Listen to music. Be young and be free. Get closer to your heart and always remember how special you are!

You do know that you have that special something which makes you so attractive: it’s called kindness…and kindness can’t be bought with money. Isn’t it awesome to have something for yourself? Isn’t it awesome to have a good heart? Isn’t it amazing to have people in your life who love and support you? I think it is.

Life is too short to worry about things that don’t matter. Life is too short to be sad and miserable. You deserve an inspiring journey in which you wake up every day and thank God, because you are still alive and breathing. You deserve a journey in which  you are grateful, because you have the power to get back up again and fight no matter how many times you’ve been hurt. You are a wonderful person and just in case you forgot, I wanted to remind you about the power inside your heart.

I hope this lifts you up.

Lots of love,

Queen of Hearts

Love Letter

Dear self,

I’ve known you for 18 years now and ,still, you never cease to amaze me. You are a truly wonderful person and I guess I should finally tell you what I love about you.

First of all, I think you are a really good writer, although sometimes you are too modest to take the responsibility for it. I am very proud of the way you promote your friends through your articles and I really admire how you inspire others to become better persons through what you write. You’ve done a good job so far, so keep up with the good work! I guarantee you it was worth every single minute you spent writing in order to make someone else smile or just open up your heart and share how you feel with others. I guarantee you that making a blog despite the fear of not being a good enough writer was a good choice after all, because now there are so many people who look up to you, read and enjoy your posts. I think you exceeded  your expectations when it comes to writing and your writing style became shaped by the changes in your life.

Secondly, I truly love the fact that you remain positive no matter what happens. You keep your head up, you smile and shrug it off. You always manage to put things into perspective, to look at the positive side instead of the negative. This gives you a lot of power and makes you a brave person. Also, you see your flaws and mistakes and you try to work with them not against them.If someone gives you darkness you know how to make light out of it. Don’t you think that’s lovely?

Sometimes when you cry, you help others and they don’t even know it. They have no idea how you feel. I believe you should be a little more selfish at times, in a good way. You are a good person and somehow, no matter what you do, you always manage to light a spark in someone’s eyes or touch someone’s heart wherever you go. Darling, I think that the energy you give off makes others trust you in such a way that they tell you their deep and darkest secrets…and you keep them, because you are a trustworthy person.

Thirdly, I’m proud that you know how to make friends. You surround yourself with creative people who make you proud, because they are so good at what they are doing. You surround yourself with people who encourage you to give your best all the time, give good advice and help you when you need it. I think it’s a treasure to have such amazing friends who support you, listen to you, smile and cry with you.

Finally, your dedication to be as happy as possible makes me smile. Your work towards your dreams fills me with joy. The fact that you learn something new every day when it comes to psychology and understanding yourself enriches your view of the world. The fact that you remain true to yourself makes you stand out from the crowd and I really like that about you.

I love a lot of things about you. Here is just a short list that I made up in a rush….but I strongly believe that what I love the most about you is the fact that you love others the way you love yourself: unconditionally.

Into the light

This is a story about a good friend of mine, a writer that I come across by chance one day, a person who is actually really talented at drawing, as well. She has recently made a Facebook page about her drawings and I truly believe that she manages to touch people’s souls through her art, so I wanted to know her hidden story, her ups and downs and her love for this particular hobby.

Like every little kid who gets a pencil in her hand, she started drawing. At first, nothing amazing, just simple stuff. She drew only to get rid of the boredom around her and just do something fun for a change. She never thought that drawing would become a huge part of her life…until she made a folder full of drawings. You know what they say: “the best things in life usually happen unexpectedly”. In that moment everything changed, because she truly started to appreciate the beauty she could create only using a pencil, a piece of paper and some colours. She started to draw more and 12662604_947003655392805_9097717916648977169_nmore, to create more complex shapes and figures…and suddenly drawing became more than just a simple thing she did when she was bored. It became a part of her life. She worked to learn how to draw better…and two years ago she drew her first portrait, which brought her back to another startling truth: drawing became more than just work , it became a friend for her, a true friend which she could always counted on when she wanted to take a break, to unleash her feelings and open up her heart in front of the white piece of paper. She planted a seed and a huge beautiful tree came to life.

For me, that is truly inspiring and really touching.I wish I could tell you that “this is it: just a simple girl who likes to draw and write from time to time”, but I would lie both to myself and to you…because the story is not over yet.

Sometimes, it’s really hard to belive in ourselves and in our skills…and my friend made no exception. She went through a lot of ups and downs when it comes to drawing, because she used to be really hard on herself and listen fondly to her own inner critic and the harsh remarks of those around her. Eventually, we all have to slay some dragons until we find the castle we were dreaming about. Despite her insecurity and her belief that she could never call herself an artist she made a Facebook page to prove that , at least in her eyes, she is good at drawing. I believe that she was pretty brave to dismiss her fear and the opinion of others and come out of darkness directly into the spotlight. She published her drawings and of course, everyone loved them…and she has some amazing portraits that I believe you should definitely check out.

I think that her favourite quote says more about her than my words ever would:“Do what you love and love what you do.” One strong girl co12715486_950427308383773_4484834125013946991_nmes out of the shadows, slashes insecurity, looks fear in the eye and wins at life. How does it sound to you?…because to me it is truly impressing.

A writer. An artist. A story. A phoenix coming alive… and most importantly a strong woman who believes in herself and has the courage to go after what she wants.

Writing and drawing is all about expressing feelings and knowing that the judgement of others doesn’t matter anymore. When two different worlds collide something magnificent happens: a spark of magic escapes from one’s fingertips and becomes a story about success, a story about encouraging others to work hard and never give up.
